The questionThe broad questionMake it concrete
The goalIs this a good fit for me?What are we treating, and how will we know the plan helps?
The evidenceDoes it work? What study supports this use in adults with a goal like mine?
The checksIs the service legitimate?Who evaluates me, and which pharmacy prepares the medicine?
The billWhat is the cost? What is the full ongoing charge, including visits, tests and medicine?
A helpful answer has enough detail to explain to someone at home.

Can I get this without going into a clinic?

A controlled drug is a medicine on a government list of drugs with extra restrictions.

General federal law, as of September 2026, imposes no requirement for a visit in person before prescribing a medicine outside the federal controlled-drug lists.

As of September 2026, sermorelin does not appear on the federal lists of controlled drugs.

State rules and the needs of the evaluation can still require more than an online exchange.

Ask the doctor or other medical professional treating you what they can check online and what needs a visit in person.

Is it a weight-loss or better-sleep treatment?

The old sermorelin approvals did not cover adults’ body shape, sleep or ageing.

Some small studies of older adults used sermorelin; another used a similar medicine with a small change in its chemical parts.

None of those studies lasted longer than 16 weeks.

The studies that measured fat found no change in it.

Ask the person treating you which study supports treatment for your problem. Ask about changes in daily life, such as better sleep, as well as any change in blood-test results.

What about sport?

The current World Anti-Doping Agency list prohibits sermorelin both in competition and outside it, as of September 2026.

If sport rules apply to you, raise that before any treatment decision. Ask the relevant sport body about its process.

Keep the last questions for the plan

  • What other choices fit the problem we are trying to solve?
  • What would make us decide against sermorelin?
  • Who explains the lab results and pharmacy instructions?
  • After the first visit, how can I contact the person responsible for my treatment?
  • What is the plan if treatment does not help?
